June 2016 Scrapbooking Workshop -- Happy Times

Close to My Heart had a special in May for National Scrapbooking Month for the Happy Times paper line so we decided to use that paper in June.  We used a workshop designed by Brenda Rose -- she did a beautiful job with the coordinating "Happy Times" stamp set.

We will be using the new Calypso paper line in August for our next regular workshop.

Let me know if you are interested in joining our workshops.  We typically meet every other month.  The remaining workshops for 2016 are August, September, and November.

May 2016 Scrapbooking Workshop -- La Vie En Rose

The paper line "La Vie En Rose" is what we are using this month.  What fun paper this is!!  You can put basically use any color with it, dress it up or dress it down -- just have fun with it!  I'm going to use it to document Olivia's fantastic year with her All-Star cheering team with Fame.  They had a fantastic year, so I'm going to use all four layouts to document it.  Her uniform is black and deep red so this paper paired with Ruby is perfect!  I haven't added the pictures yet, but you can see the empty flip flaps in the photos (not nearly as cute as her photos will be).

We are embellishing the pages using the Picture My Life Beautiful You cards, the Basic Fundamental Stickers Pack (with gold foil), the gold foil tape, and the gold bling gems.  I have added a few items, but will add a lot more once I add the pictures and know where to add what!  :-)

We will be using the National Scrapbooking special paper, "Happy Times" for a special workshop on June 14th.

The new Seasonal Expressions 2 catalog went live on May 1st, so we have 3 new paper lines.  We will be using the new Calypso paper line in August for our next regular workshop.

Let me know if you are interested in joining our workshops.  We typically meet every other month.  The remaining workshops for 2016 are June, August, September, and November.

January 2016 Scrapbooking Workshop -- White Pines

The paper line "White Pines" is what we are using this month.  I made a comment when I first saw this paper line that I wasn't that crazy about it, but boy, after working with it, I take back what I said!  I really like the way the layouts turned out.  The first layout is the layout designed by CTMH for the WOTG (I changed it by adding red glitter paper and a few other small changes).  Again, I couldn't believe they were including Chocolate as cardstock -- I mean, who uses brown for Christmas pictures?!?  I thought for sure I'd be substituting something for the brown.  But it really does work well with this paper!

I added red, gold, and white glitter paper to the paper, and lots and lots of Cricut cuts (45 different Cricut cuts used on the four layouts).  I haven't put pictures on the pages yet -- I haven't had a chance to even look at my Christmas pictures to see which ones I want to use, but I went ahead and committed to the sizes of the pictures I'm planning to use and added mats so that you can see the pages finished (we won't cut the mats in class).

Let me know if you are interested in joining our workshops.  We typically meet every other month.  Our next workshop will be March 7th and 8th.  We'll be voting on paper lines this week to determine what we are going to use next.

BTW, the new Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog went live on January 1, so we have 3 new paper lines!  I have a feeling we might be using something from the new catalog in March.

November 2015 ScrapbookingWorkshop -- Urban

The paper line "Urban" is what we are using this month.  What's funny is that when I saw this paper, I immediately thought of the photos I took this summer when we took the grandkids to the drive-through zoo, Virginia Safari, at Natural Bridge, Virginia.  I didn't really think about the title "Urban" until I started working with the paper and the complements and saw the graffiti on some of the paper, and saw that some of the complements were focusing on city references.  Duh . . . that's why it's called Urban.  But I think it also worked great for my zoo and "country" type pictures.  Guess it would be accurate to say I think this paper line is versatile!  :-)

Once again, I used lots and lots of our wonderful Flip Flaps.  This time, not only did I use the 4x6 size, but I also used the 3x4 and 3x3.  Wonderful, wonderful product.  Each month, using them keeps me from having to design more pages to accommodate all of the photos.  Just use Flip Flaps!!

Let me know if you are interested in joining our workshops.  We typically meet every other month.  Our next workshop will be January 11th and 12th.  We'll be using the White Pines paper line from the Holiday Expressions mini-catalog.

September 2015 Scrapbooking Workshop -- Zoe

For our scrapbooking workshop this month, we are using the brand new Zoe paper line.  Love, love, love this paper!  The colors are great and the designs for the papers are really fun.  My niece got married in July of this year in Avon, NC, and we spent a week there -- our first trip to Avon.  We had a wonderful time, and the wedding was just perfect.  I think the "funness" (I'm sure that's not a word) of these pages was just perfect for such special pictures.

Believe it or not, I scrapbooked 59 pictures on these 4 layouts, and all but 2 are 4x6 photos!!  That's all thanks to our wonderful Flip Flaps.  I can't tell you how much I love using Flip Flaps -- rarely, do I scrapbook without them!!

Let me know if you are interested in joining our workshops.  We typically meet every other month.  Our next workshop will be November 16th and 17th.  We'll be using either the Urban paper line from our brand new Annual Inspirations catalog which went live September 1st, or the White Pines paper line (think Christmas) from the new Holiday Expressions mini-catalog which also went live on September 1st.

August 2015 Scrapbooking Workshop -- Blossom

Wow, we took a long break from workshops -- 3 months!  But we got back together this week and had a great time working on pages using the Blossom paper line.  This paper really fooled me -- it's really much more versatile than I thought when I first saw it.  I used it for several different groups of photos, and I can easily see beach/river/pool pictures looking adorable on it, too!
Let me know if you are interested in joining our workshops.  We typically meeting every other month.  Our next workshop will be August 14th and 15th.  We'll be using the Zoe paper line from our brand new Annual Inspirations catalog which goes live September 1st!  BTW, love, love, love the new catalog and Holiday Expressions!

May 2015 Scrapbooking Workshop -- Snowhaven

I know it's finally spring weather, but we are working on getting all of those adorable snow pictures in our albums this month.  We are scrapping with the beautiful Snowhaven paper at our May workshop.  The colors are vibrant and look fabulous against the snow pictures!

Thanks to Dana Kessler for her fabulous page designs this month.

Let me know if you are interested in joining our workshops.  We typically meet every other month.  The next workshop will be July 13th and 14th.  We'll be using the Blossom paper line that can be found in the new Seasonal Expressions 2!!
